Substance Use Disorder Specialist, Behavioral Health Clinician

Job Summary
This role is ideal for a skilled clinician who is passionate about supporting individuals struggling with substance use disorders. You'll work closely with primary care providers to determine the next level of care for adults with complex behavioral health needs. Your expertise in substance use disorder resources and treatments will enable you to provide timely and effective support to patients and their families.
About the Role
As a Substance Use Disorder Specialist, you'll be responsible for:
- Serving as a subject matter expert on substance use disorder resources, treatments, and admission levels of care
- Researching and identifying resources available for adults with behavioral health needs related to substance use disorder
- Assisting physicians and other providers in determining the next level of care for patients with substance use disorders
- Providing patients with telephonic assessments to determine appropriate levels of care
- Communicating effectively with payers to identify accessible patient providers
- Developing relationships with community-based mental health and substance abuse disorder providers
- Identifying ways to better serve populations through programs
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in social work, psychology, or equivalent (some certifications may require a Bachelor's)
- Master's Degree or higher in a related field (preferred)
- Three years' technical experience in a related field (preferred)
- Two years' experience in substance use disorder assessment, treatment, or related experience (preferred)
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or certification related to substance use disorders in the state of practice (preferred)
