Job Summary

Michigan Medicine is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist Specialist to join our team in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications in our pediatric patients.

Responsibilities
  • Assure the appropriateness of medication therapy through review of medication orders and communication with prescribers and providers.
  • Compound and accurately dispense medications, intravenous solutions, and related supplies.
  • Formulate, prepare, and maintain quality control of pharmaceutical preparations.
  • Check medication preparation and oversee delegated pharmacy services performed by pharmacy technicians.
  • Actively collaborate with the healthcare team to design, implement, and monitor patient-specific pharmacotherapy.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificate of completion from a PGY-2 Residency in Pediatrics, fellowship, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in Pediatrics.
  • Current licensure as a registered pharmacist by the State of Michigan Board of Pharmacy and a Michigan Controlled Substance License to practice pharmacy in the State of Michigan, or eligibility to become licensed within 60 days of employment start date.
