Position Overview

Phoenix Metals Company is a leading distributor in the metals sector, operating 17 locations nationwide as a subsidiary of Reliance Inc., a prominent Fortune 500 company.

ROLE SUMMARY

The Branch Manager is tasked with managing the daily functions of the branch, ensuring outstanding customer engagement, and meeting financial goals. This position requires the recruitment and management of personnel, fostering customer relationships, and devising and executing strategies to enhance productivity and sales performance to meet financial objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee the planning, organization, and direction of daily branch operations, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement sales initiatives to achieve or surpass branch and corporate goals.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to staff to support their professional growth.
  • Ensure exceptional customer satisfaction through superior service.
  • Formulate strategies for business expansion and customer acquisition.
  • Address customer complaints and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Monitor financial activities of the branch, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to maintain profitability.
  • Facilitate communication between branch personnel and upper management, serving as a liaison for concerns and suggestions.
  • Manage inventory and ensure sufficient stock levels.
  • Oversee the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes for new team members.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant safety and quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in management or sales, or a combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge and skills.
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in customer service or a related field is preferred.
  • Understanding of sales principles and methods for promoting products or services is required.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and processes is essential.
  • Familiarity with raw materials, production processes, quality control, and effective distribution techniques is required.
  • Understanding of company products and their applications is necessary.
  • Knowledge of the metals industry is required.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and utilize time efficiently is essential.
  • Capability to present information clearly and respond to inquiries from various stakeholders is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  • Excellent listening skills are required.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential.
  • Strong leadership and team-building capabilities are required.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to real-world situations is necessary.
  • Capacity to make informed decisions based on analysis, knowledge, and experience is required.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with colleagues and clients is essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software is required.

Work Environment: This position involves sedentary work, requiring exertion of up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to move objects. The role primarily involves sitting, with walking and standing required only occasionally. The work environment is an office setting with controlled temperature.
