The Receptionist is the first and last point of contact for clients and a key factor in creating a positive impression. The ideal candidate will have exceptional client service and communication skills, computer literacy, and the ability to handle payment and financial issues. They will support veterinarians, technicians, and other staff members in daily patient and client care.
Responsibilities:- Maintain and uphold the Core Values and Mission Statement of Animal House Groom & Board.
- Greet clients and pets with a smile and a positive attitude.
- Answer client inquiries about animal care, routine procedures, and veterinary services.
- Screen and route calls to appropriate staff, taking and delivering messages promptly.
- Schedule appointments and surgeries according to hospital guidelines.
- Enter accurate charges and explain invoices to clients.
- Collect payment and verify client eligibility for charge accounts.
- Check medical and computer records for accurate client information.
- Fill prescriptions and provide routine administration instructions to clients.
- Advise clients on flea/tick preventative, heartworm preventatives, and other retail items.
- Demonstrated commitment to Animal House Groom & Board's core values.
- Computer knowledge required, including keyboarding and use of communication tools.
- Working knowledge of veterinary terminology.
- Excellent spelling and grammar skills.
- Ability to handle varied and sometimes difficult situations.
- Ability to display tact and respect with clients and team members.
- Ability to conduct oneself in a confident, calm, and professional manner.
- Genuine liking for animals and their owners.
