Note: This position requires full-time onsite presence.

Role Responsibilities:

The Applications Engineer plays a vital role in the product applications engineering sector of the organization. This position is integral to the company's sales and marketing initiatives, requiring collaboration with various teams and departments, as well as interaction with external sales representatives, distributors, and end users.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Handling incoming and outgoing communications via phone and email related to sales, applications, and technical support for our products and services.
  • Ensuring timely follow-ups are conducted. Sales activities encompass prospect qualification, addressing customer needs, and generating and following up on sales quotations.
  • Conducting product training sessions, which may take place in-house, through webinars, or occasionally at customer sites.
  • Engaging in outside sales calls and providing technical applications support as required.

Qualifications:

A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year university is highly preferred. A background in electrical or chemical engineering is particularly advantageous, although other technical degrees may also be considered. Experience in sales, customer service, or support roles, along with problem-solving skills, is beneficial but not mandatory. Proficiency in general computer applications is required, ideally across both PC and Macintosh platforms. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.


Technical Expertise:

The Applications Engineer must possess a comprehensive understanding of customer requirements, analyze relevant data, and address customer needs effectively. The ideal candidate will have a foundational knowledge of gas detection technology and gas properties.

Additionally, the Applications Engineer should demonstrate a solid working knowledge of gas detection devices, sensors, basic electronic signals, and the physical characteristics of various toxic, combustible, and inert gases commonly encountered in industrial settings. Much of this expertise will be acquired through on-the-job training specific to the gas detection industry. A strong aptitude for learning and retaining technical information is crucial.
