As a Family Preservation Worker, you will collaborate with a team of social workers and family support professionals to assist families across various regions. Your primary responsibility will be to empower your community by connecting families with essential resources. Ideal candidates will possess experience in working with children and families, along with a bachelor's degree in social work or a related human services field. A valid driver's license, car registration, and auto insurance are also required. We value reliability, a responsible attitude, compassion, and a commitment to excellence in service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement the MiFT program's service model, focusing on a strength-based, non-deficit approach.
  • Assist families in accessing essential services, including housing, transportation, and home maintenance.
  • Provide skills training in areas such as parenting, self-advocacy, and effective communication.
  • Offer short-term counseling and crisis intervention to families in need.
  • Coordinate with external providers to arrange necessary outpatient counseling or medical care, address educational needs, and resolve housing issues.
  • Prepare necessary documentation, including service plans and progress reports, within specified timeframes.
  • Present cases for termination conferences, recommending follow-up services as needed.
  • Maintain regular face-to-face contact with families, adhering to contract-defined frequencies.
  • Conduct follow-up evaluations of families at designated intervals.
  • Transport clients as required, using your own vehicle.
