OBJECTIVE OF THIS POSITION:
Your primary responsibility will be to conduct precise and reliable laboratory testing to support patient care efficiently. You will play a vital role in various laboratory operations.
SUPERVISION:
Your role will be supervised by the Laboratory Manager, who will ensure that you fulfill your responsibilities effectively.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Conduct laboratory tests following established protocols in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Demonstrate proficient blood collection techniques, including venipuncture, capillary, and pediatric methods.
- Review results and logs to identify any technical or clerical errors.
- Generate complete and accurate reports.
- Timely verification, reporting, and documentation of alarm values.
- Participate in Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement initiatives as needed.
- Perform and review Quality Control assessments.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:
- Maintain an inventory of laboratory supplies.
- Conduct and document daily and periodic maintenance.
- Perform calibrations as required.
- Troubleshoot and document any instrument issues.
- Utilize hotlines and call for service when necessary.
- Exhibit a willingness to assist colleagues with their responsibilities.
- Adapt to changes in duties, calls, and shifts during emergencies.
- Foster positive working relationships with physicians, external facilities, and the public.
- Maintain a satisfactory attendance record.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ensure availability and responsiveness when on call.
- Adhere to departmental and hospital policies and procedures in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Comply with OSHA standards and universal precautions.
- Assist the manager, pathologist, and CEO as requested.
- Support the training and mentoring of new staff technologists.

Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate's Degree in Medical Technology with certification
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Biology & Biochemistry with appropriate certification
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of two years in a clinical laboratory setting.
