Job Summary

The State of Nebraska is seeking a highly skilled Marketing and Communications Specialist II to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective marketing and communications strategies to promote our programs and services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our contracted marketing agency to create and disseminate informative messages about our programs and services.
  • Develop creative approaches to maintaining our website and managing content, including posting current notices, reports, and other materials.
  • Perform local and regional outreach in Nebraska communities, creating and delivering presentations about our programs and services.
  • Plan and coordinate public and internal information functions and activities to meet project deadlines and facilitate co-action with other program activities.
  • Research and determine the scope, nature, and target audience of agency public information functions and activities.
  • Write, design, compose, edit, research, compile, and/or select copy and layout for informational/administrative publications, audio-visual material, media releases, displays, exhibits, and/or speeches.
  • Present and/or schedule presentations of public information to news media representatives, governmental/program officials, or interested citizen groups.
  • Develop and recommend policies and procedures to agency management to increase the impact and effectiveness of agency public information functions and activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in journalism, communications, marketing, public relations, advertising, graphic arts, digital media, videography, or related field.
  • At least one year of experience in coordinating, planning, and managing public relations/publicity campaigns, mass media communication activities, and/or public information programs.
