Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to inquiries from personnel and leadership regarding policies, procedures, and initiatives related to employee benefits.
  • Ensure that employee benefit plans adhere to all relevant laws and regulations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, Workers Compensation, Family Medical Leave Act, and the Affordable Care Act.
  • Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations such as ERISA, COBRA, and HIPAA.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and management of employee benefit programs that are competitive, cost-effective, and compliant with regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to the design of benefit plans that meet the specific needs of the organization and its workforce, utilizing industry trends and market data.
  • Gather and analyze data regarding employee benefit plans, including usage, costs, and participation rates, to evaluate the effectiveness of benefit programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Oversee the daily management of employee benefit programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Administer the ACA reporting and compliance processes.
  • Handle Workers Compensation claims administration.
  • Manage OSHA reporting requirements.
  • Oversee FMLA, Leave of Absence, ADA, STD, and LTD claims administration.
  • Support Open Enrollment activities by assisting with webinar planning, benefits portal implementation, and enrollment management.
  • Assist in the creation of EDI connections and oversee weekly vendor communications.
  • Facilitate employee enrollments for new hires and life events, audit enrollments and billing, resolve issues, and respond to employee inquiries.
  • Supervise quarterly bill reconciliation and monthly vendor invoicing.
  • Manage funding for FSA and HSA plans, oversee 401k changes and loans, and conduct quarterly reconciliations of 401k, FSA, and HSA plans.
  • Assist with staff benefits programs such as tuition reimbursement and employee referral initiatives.
  • Develop and implement communication strategies to inform employees about their benefits and encourage participation in available programs, including organizing enrollment meetings, delivering presentations, and creating written materials.
  • Participate in annual audits.
  • Assist with due diligence, benefits census creation, and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Human Resources is required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
