Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Massachusetts General Hospital. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing clinical diagnostic molecular imaging testing, including general and positron studies, as well as computer interactions associated with these studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare radiopharmaceuticals from commercially available kits and/or recipes for use in patient studies, ensuring quality control and adherence to aseptic technique guidelines.
  • Determine the appropriate radiopharmaceutical to use based on established guidelines and consult with physicians as necessary.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients and complete testing, including general, cardiac, and positron studies, as well as Computed Tomography imaging as ordered in conjunction with PET exams.
  • Perform intra-venous peripheral catheter insertion as authorized by Nuclear Medicine physicians.
  • Complete testing for outpatients within Cardiology and acquire, process, and reconstruct images as necessary.
Requirements
  • BS degree in NM Technology or a related field, with a certificate in NM Technology preferred.
  • Radiologic technologist (Nuclear Medicine) licensure in the state of Massachusetts.
  • ARRT or NMTCB certification.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine, with recent graduates considered.

This position requires the ability to work in a team environment and foster a positive image and professional appearance. The successful candidate will be able to lift, move, and transport patients, as well as work with radiation safety techniques and handle and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals.
