Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing clinical diagnostic molecular imaging testing, including general and positron studies, as well as computed tomography imaging.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare radiopharmaceuticals from commercially available kits and/or recipes for use in patient studies.
- Determine radiopharmaceuticals to be utilized based on established guidelines, consulting with physicians when necessary.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients and complete testing, including general, cardiac, and positron studies.
- Perform intra-venous peripheral catheter insertion as authorized by Nuclear Medicine physicians.
- Complete testing for outpatients within Cardiology, acquiring, processing, and reconstructing images as needed.
- Label patient images with relevant data, including radiopharmaceutical amount, time of injection, equipment used, and additional patient study information.
- Archive patient data to PACS for long-term storage and retrieve patient studies for review and comparison.
- Ensure radiation safety techniques are followed, including the use of protective shielding and handling and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals.
- Interface with computer systems related to duties, including scheduling responsibilities through dedicated EMR systems.
- BS degree in NM Technology or BS in unrelated field with a certificate in NM Technology.
- Radiologic technologist (Nuclear Medicine) licensure in the state of Massachusetts.
- ARRT or NMTCB certification.
- 1-2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine or related field.
