Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Massachusetts General Hospital. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for performing clinical diagnostic molecular imaging testing, including general and positron studies, as well as computer interactions associated with these studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare radiopharmaceuticals from commercially available kits and/or recipes for use in patient studies, ensuring quality control and adherence to aseptic technique guidelines.
  • Determine the appropriate radiopharmaceutical to use based on established guidelines, consulting with physicians as necessary, and calculate patient dosages.
  • Explain procedures to patients, reassuring them and securing their cooperation during testing.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients and complete testing, including general, cardiac, and positron studies, as well as computed tomography imaging as ordered in conjunction with PET exams.
  • Perform intra-venous peripheral catheter insertion as authorized by Nuclear Medicine physicians.
  • Complete testing for outpatients within Cardiology.
Requirements
  • BS degree in NM Technology preferred or BS in unrelated field with a certificate in NM Technology preferred.
  • Radiologic technologist (Nuclear Medicine) in the state of Massachusetts.
  • ARRT or NMTCB certification.
  • 1-2 years of experience, with recent graduates considered.
