Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineering Manager to oversee our innovative medical device development initiatives. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of product development from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with project goals.
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions to establish clear project specifications.
  • Develop and oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and key deliverables.
  • Coordinate activities among internal teams and external partners.
  • Create comprehensive manufacturing documentation for suppliers, including schematics and specifications.
  • Establish electrical reliability testing protocols to meet performance standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Design and evaluate manufacturing test fixtures and procedures, ensuring quality in initial production samples.
  • Develop PCBA, firmware, and control algorithms for electro-mechanical systems using industry-standard tools.
  • Investigate and recommend technological advancements and potential patent opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support electronic prototypes and quality assurance efforts.
  • Lead project updates and design review meetings to communicate progress and challenges.
  • Contribute to risk analysis and compliance efforts for medical product certifications.
  • Engage in the development of ISO and AAMI standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering their professional growth.
  • Support the overall success of the organization by undertaking additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in PCBA design within the medical, consumer, automotive, or aerospace sectors.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role managing product development projects.
  • Strong expertise in EE CAD and firmware development for robust PCBA designs; experience in cloud and app development is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex priorities and coordinate efforts among diverse teams.
  • Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), and Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Familiarity with mass production processes and industry-standard testing methodologies.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles is preferred.
  • Experience with agency certifications (ISO, IEC, AAMI, UL, CE, CISPR, FCC, FDA) is essential; familiarity with FDA-related standards is a plus.
  • Prior interaction with certification bodies is beneficial.
  • Experience in mentoring and managing junior engineers is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as required, both domestically and internationally.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends when necessary.
