Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to oversee our innovative medical device development initiatives. This role is pivotal in enhancing patient care through advanced technology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the entire product development process from conception to completion.
  • Facilitate collaborative brainstorming sessions to establish project requirements.
  • Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and key deliverables.
  • Coordinate efforts among internal teams and external partners.
  • Create comprehensive manufacturing documentation for suppliers, including schematics and specifications.
  • Establish electrical reliability testing protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Design and evaluate manufacturing test setups and procedures, and analyze product returns to identify failure causes.
  • Develop firmware, control algorithms, and user interfaces for electro-mechanical systems using industry-standard tools.
  • Investigate and suggest technological advancements and potential patent opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support prototype development and quality assurance.
  • Lead project updates and design review meetings.
  • Contribute to risk analysis and usability assessments for medical product certifications.
  • Engage in the development of ISO and AAMI standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers within the Electrical Engineering team.
  • Support the overall success of the organization by undertaking additional responsibilities as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in PCBA design within medical, consumer, automotive, or aerospace sectors.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role for product development projects.
  • Strong skills in EE CAD and firmware development, with cloud and app development experience being advantageous.
  • Ability to navigate complex projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Familiarity with mass production processes and testing standards for consumer products.
  • Experience with agency certifications (ISO, IEC, AAMI, UL, CE, etc.) is essential.
  • Prior experience working with certification bodies is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends.
