The successful candidate will be responsible for building and managing a team of professional advisors, designing and delivering advising services, and collaborating with faculty, staff, and administrators to promote student success and retention.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for academic advising that aligns with the university's mission and goals.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of academic advisors to ensure effective delivery of advising services.
  • Design and deliver advising programs and services that promote student success and retention.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and administrators to develop and implement advising policies and procedures.
  • Collect and analyze data to inform advising practices and improve student outcomes.
  • Develop and manage the advising budget and resources.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant institutional policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards.
Requirements:
  • A master's degree in higher education, counseling, or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years' experience in academic advising, with progressively responsible roles, including supervisory experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop creative solutions to complex issues.
  • Experience with assessment of academic advising services and data analysis.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in advising practices and program development.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in an online institution.
  • Experience supervising in a union environment.
  • Experience in budget management.
  • Certification in academic advising.
  • Proficiency in advising technology platforms and student information systems.
