The role of Accounts Payable Specialist is pivotal in managing vendor invoices, adhering to established company protocols to guarantee accurate data entry and processing.

***This position requires in-person attendance during regular business hours.***

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute various accounts payable tasks, including the accurate data entry of vendor invoices.
  • Handle payables for multiple locations and suppliers, ensuring timely payments.
  • Process a high volume of invoices through a meticulous matching of invoices with purchase orders.
  • Verify all invoices for proper documentation and necessary approvals prior to processing payments.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies as needed.
  • Maintain precise documentation in line with company policies and standard accounting practices.
  • Engage with suppliers, vendors, and internal departments to facilitate smooth operations.
  • Assist with additional finance-related projects as required.
  • Support other roles within the Finance/Accounting department as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2 years of accounts payable experience in a high-volume setting.
  • Associate's degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred; however, relevant business experience is also considered.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Familiarity with web-based accounting systems and the waste management industry is advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with vendors and customers.
  • The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities, multitasking skills, organizational capabilities, and attention to detail.
