POSITION SUMMARY
The Injection Molding Process Specialist plays a crucial role in the effective operation of injection molding processes. This includes setting up, programming, and troubleshooting injection molding machines and their auxiliary equipment within a high-volume manufacturing setting.
WORK SCHEDULE
This position operates on a 7 PM - 7 AM schedule and includes a sign-on bonus along with a comprehensive benefits package.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor machinery performance, address process-related challenges promptly to reduce downtime and waste, and enhance productivity.
- Initiate and adjust machinery settings to achieve optimal output and efficiency.
- Execute injection mold changes according to the production schedule.
- Set up and configure auxiliary equipment.
- Program robotic material handlers and injection molding machines.
- Conduct insert and version modifications to molds, ensuring accuracy in date codes.
- Collaborate with Maintenance Technicians to assist in the repair of machinery, molds, and auxiliary equipment.
- Participate in the inspection of in-process and finished products.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a process technician.
- Prior experience in injection molding is essential.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional organizational skills.
- Capability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, including operating and maintenance manuals.
- Robust mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including 12-hour rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Work is conducted in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moderate to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, and vibration.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, use hands for handling objects, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, talk, see, and hear.
- Capacity to push, pull, lift, carry, or move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Relocation expense reimbursement may be available.
