Job Overview:

The Senior Systems Engineering Specialist is a skilled professional with a solid understanding of the field. Operating under general supervision, this role is responsible for establishing objectives within their job area. The specialist will engage with various stakeholders to clarify and interpret operational processes, practices, and procedures. They will identify and respond to changes within their domain, striving to meet operational goals for specific programs and projects that moderately influence departmental outcomes.

The work involves implementing moderate enhancements or improvements to systems and processes to address challenges or enhance the efficiency of the job area. Problem-solving typically draws from previous experiences and thorough analysis of the issues at hand.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Creation of functional block diagrams, use-case diagrams, and cabling diagrams.
  • Development of Engineering Change Orders.
  • Conducting trade studies and generating requirements specifications.
  • Collaborating with other engineering disciplines (e.g., mechanical, electrical) to ensure proper coordination of systems aspects of projects.
  • Planning and executing integration and test activities, including the generation of plans and procedures.
  • Preparation and presentation of design review materials.
  • Managing and coordinating system interfaces with other connected systems.
  • Verification of system interfaces and conducting system test activities, including planning, execution, and reporting.
  • Providing mentorship to junior RF Engineers.
  • Possessing knowledge of Telemetry Systems, Test Missile Kit, and SSBN operations.
  • Experience with testing RF systems in laboratory and on-site environments.

Travel may be required for this position.



Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with at least 4 years of related experience. Alternatively, a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Must possess a Secret Security Clearance.

Preferred Skills:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated initiative, drive, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with EMI and EMC Mil-Standards.

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $102,000 - $190,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as the final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
