Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Legal Practice Assistant to join our team at Mice Groups Inc. in Los Angeles, CA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, briefs, and petitions.
  • Complete state and federal court filings and e-filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor and maintain attorney case dockets, ensuring timely and efficient case management.
  • Compose and edit correspondence, reports, and memoranda, maintaining a professional tone and style.
  • Create and edit documents, memos, presentations, and spreadsheets, utilizing advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Maintain calendars and contact management systems, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements, including booking flights, hotels, and transportation.
  • Track, organize, and process expense reports, reimbursements, and check requests, utilizing Chrome River.
  • Review and organize documents and electronic files, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Open new clients and matters, following New Business Intake procedures and preparing conflict of interest forms.
  • Assist lawyers with marketing and business development needs, including scheduling and organizing meetings, conferences, and events.
  • Provide support and accompany team members during trials, including travel as required.
Requirements
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, proofreading, and organization skills.
  • Ability to work as a team player with all levels of personnel and clients.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of workflow.
  • Advanced experience with e-filing and e-service in state and federal courts.
  • Fundamental knowledge of legal terminology, state and federal court procedures.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, experience with styles, generating TOAs/TOCs.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Minimum of 5 years of mid- to large-sized law firm experience.
  • High school diploma and/or bachelor's degree.
  • California litigation experience is required.
