Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Facility Maintenance Technician to ensure the optimal functioning and cleanliness of our facility's infrastructure and surroundings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a proactive approach and meticulous attention to detail while executing both preventive and corrective maintenance tasks safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the overall cleanliness and upkeep of all warehouse and office spaces, including performing minor repairs and enhancements as directed by the supervisor.
  • Conduct general facility maintenance tasks such as painting, carpentry, and minor construction activities.
  • Carry out regular inspections and maintenance of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems as required.
  • Perform routine cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and waste disposal, ensuring all areas are clean and presentable.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to spills, leaks, and other urgent cleaning situations.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and comply with all health, safety, security, and emergency regulations. Assess workplace safety and collaborate with management to identify and address potentially hazardous conditions.
  • Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and established processes, working with management to resolve any issues affecting safety or product quality.
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning activities, maintenance tasks, and inventory levels. Prepare reports as necessary.
  • Communicate regularly with the team regarding completed work and ongoing tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in facility maintenance, preferably in a food or beverage manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, woodworking, and HVAC systems, with the ability to effectively use hand and power tools.
  • Skilled in the use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Understanding of food safety, workplace safety, and food quality standards is highly preferred.
  • Prior experience or certifications in GMP and HACCP practices; familiarity with SQF policies is a plus.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for troubleshooting and resolving issues efficiently.
  • Self-motivated with a keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative team player who contributes positively to the work environment.
  • Proven track record of excellent attendance and performance.
  • Heightened awareness of safety precautions and hazards for oneself and others.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 75 lbs.
  • Capability to stand for extended periods on concrete surfaces.
  • Engagement in continuous physical activity, including walking, stooping, bending, reaching, and crouching.
