Position Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Specialist is tasked with both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the infrastructure, machinery, and equipment at Argon Industries. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to efficiently and safely repair, replace, and maintain the essential assets that support business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with various departments to develop effective methods and programs aimed at enhancing the longevity and operational uptime of all systems within Argon Industries. Work alongside production teams to optimize production facilities, minimize costly breakdowns, and devise strategies that bolster overall reliability and safety for both plant operations and personnel.
- Take charge of all breakdown incidents across all shifts. Diagnose issues and oversee or execute urgent repairs, coordinating with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) maintenance personnel and contractors as necessary to ensure all systems function safely and efficiently.
- Establish and maintain systems (such as UniPoint) for scheduling, tracking, and documenting both planned and unplanned maintenance tasks. This includes managing maintenance tools, supplies, manuals, schematics, and equipment.
- Engage closely with suppliers to facilitate the procurement of necessary components or supplies, including both routine stock items and those needed urgently.
- Monitor and manage maintenance expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness.
- Provide training to company personnel on maintenance techniques and system requirements, including conducting periodic performance audits.
- Revise and keep updated Work Instructions related to maintenance activities.
- Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Experience with fabrication equipment such as lasers, CNC turrets, CNC press brakes, and robotic welders.
- Electrical experience, including single and three-phase systems.
- Proficiency in diagnostics, CNC controls, PLCs, and relay logic.
- Familiarity with building and vehicle systems, including HVAC, lighting, forklifts, and box trucks.
- Knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems.
- Possession of a complete working tool set.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliability.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Ability to interpret complex blueprints.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Completion of a probationary period is mandatory.
- Safety shoes are required.
Proficiencies:
- PLC troubleshooting skills.
- Development of preventive maintenance plans.
- Electrical troubleshooting expertise.
- Mechanical troubleshooting capabilities.
- Experience in PLC programming.
- Ability to troubleshoot CNC machines.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
Compensation:
$30 - $31 per hour
