Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Facility Maintenance Specialist is tasked with both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the infrastructure, machinery, and tools at Argon Industries. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems to ensure safe, efficient, and budget-conscious repairs, replacements, and maintenance of essential operational assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with various departments to implement effective methods and programs aimed at enhancing the longevity and operational efficiency of all systems within Argon Industries. Work alongside production teams to optimize production facilities, minimize costly breakdowns, and devise strategies to bolster overall reliability and safety of the plant, personnel, and production workflows.
  • Take charge of addressing all breakdowns across shifts. Diagnose issues and oversee or execute urgent repairs, coordinating with OEM maintenance personnel and contractors as necessary to ensure all systems function safely and efficiently.
  • Establish and maintain systems (such as UniPoint) for scheduling, tracking, and documenting both planned and unplanned maintenance tasks. This includes managing maintenance tools, supplies, manuals, schematics, and equipment.
  • Engage closely with suppliers to facilitate the procurement of necessary components or supplies, including routine stock items and emergency requirements.
  • Monitor and manage maintenance expenditures effectively.
  • Provide training to company personnel on maintenance techniques and system requirements, including conducting periodic performance audits.
  • Revise and keep updated Work Instructions related to maintenance tasks.
  • Perform any additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with fabrication machinery such as lasers, CNC turrets, CNC press brakes, and robotic welders.
  • Electrical knowledge encompassing single and three-phase systems.
  • Proficiency in diagnostics, CNC controls, PLCs, and relay logic.
  • Familiarity with building and vehicle systems including HVAC, lighting, forklifts, and box trucks.
  • Strong mechanical and hydraulic skills.
  • Possession of a complete working toolset.
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliability are essential.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to interpret complex blueprints.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Completion of a 90-day probationary period is mandatory.
  • Safety shoes are required.
