Job Summary

Laredo College is seeking qualified candidates for part-time adjunct instructor positions in Mathematics. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching courses and providing instruction to students in a dynamic and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Mathematics courses as assigned by the Department Chair, Dean of Arts and Sciences, or Provost/Vice-President of Academic Affairs.
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
  • Use technology to enhance teaching and learning, including but not limited to computers, overhead projectors, and PowerPoint.
  • Participate in institutional effectiveness processes and contribute to the growth and vitality of the Mathematics department.
Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Mathematics or a Master's degree with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Mathematics.
  • Two years of teaching experience at the high school or college level is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Ability to provide service to a diverse population.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Knowledge of student outcomes assessment and institutional effectiveness.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team player.

Work Environment

Work is performed in a standard office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Special Conditions

Immediate supervisor may assign other duties. May be required to work outside regular working hours, as needed. May be required to work at a different college work site or campus as needed.
