Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Development to join our team at St. Mary's University. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to secure funding for the university's programs and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute fundraising plans to secure major gifts from alumni, foundations, and corporations
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including alumni, donors, and university leadership
  • Collaborate with university departments to identify funding opportunities and develop proposals
  • Manage and analyze data to track fundraising progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Develop and implement stewardship plans to recognize and thank donors
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 3-5 years of experience in development activities and organizational fundraising
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to travel and work extended hours as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Experience with fundraising software and databases
  • Fluency in Spanish
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be required to work in an office environment and travel to various locations as needed. The physical demands of this role include sitting, walking, and standing for extended periods, as well as lifting up to 25 pounds.
