Job Opportunity at Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center. As a Speech Language Pathologist - Early Childhood Specialist, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and recommending therapeutic interventions for students with communication disorders in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and diagnose communication disorders in students (pre-k through 1st grade) and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Implement evidence-based Speech-Language Pathology instruction to teach, habilitate, or rehabilitate students with communication disorders.
  • Collaborate with teachers, other Speech Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Audiologists, and other professionals to provide comprehensive support to students.
  • Submit written reports of evaluations, treatment plans, progress reports, and discharge reports as required.
  • Communicate regularly with families and students to ensure effective treatment and progress.
  • Stay up-to-date with continuing education programs and maintain licensure and certification requirements.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree from an accredited Speech Language Pathology program.
  • New York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (or CFY eligible).
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) (or CFY eligible).
  • Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) Initial or Professional certificate or TSHH Permanent certificate.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform physical actions such as bending, kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching, printing, crawling, and running.
  • Good vision, speech, tactile, and hearing senses to perform job requirements.
  • Frequent sitting and standing, with occasional floor sitting with pediatric patients.
