Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center. As a Speech Language Pathologist - School Based, you will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and recommending therapeutic interventions for students with communication disorders in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate and diagnose students with communication disorders, including speech and language impairments.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with teachers, other SLPs, OTs, PTs, Audiologists, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
  • Communicate regularly with families and students to ensure progress and address concerns.
  • Submit written reports and maintain accurate records of student progress.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and research in the field.
Requirements:
  • Masters degree from an accredited speech language pathology program.
  • New York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (or CFY eligible).
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) (or CFY eligible).
  • Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) Initial or Professional certificate or TSHH Permanent certificate.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform physical actions such as bending, kneeling, standing, squatting, reaching, printing, crawling, and running.
  • Visual, speech, tactile, and hearing senses adequate to perform job requirements.
