Buffalo Hearing & Speech Center is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in a school-age special education program in Cheektowaga. This is a year-round position that will include working our 6 week program in future summers.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, and recommending therapeutic interventions for students with communication disorders in an educational setting. They will also implement appropriate Speech-Language Pathology instruction to teach, habilitate, or rehabilitate students with communicative impairments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students with communication disorders
  • Collaborate with teachers, other SLPs, OTs, PTs, Audiologists, and other professionals to provide comprehensive support to students
  • Conduct evaluations, assessments, and progress monitoring to inform treatment decisions
  • Communicate regularly with families and students to ensure effective collaboration and support
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and research in the field of Speech-Language Pathology

Requirements:

  • Master's degree from an accredited Speech-Language Pathology program
  • New York State licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (or CFY eligible)
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) (or CFY eligible)
  • Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities (TSSLD) Initial or Professional certificate or TSHH Permanent certificate

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift, bend, and move with students as needed
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
