Job Overview
Summary

We are seeking a dedicated professional to contribute to a long-term federal initiative that presents a range of engaging challenges. This role is pivotal in overseeing and executing telecommunications and Video Teleconferencing (VTC) services across various federal facilities. Your proficiency in VoIP and VTC technologies, particularly with Avaya Communication Manager PBX systems and Polycom VTC equipment, will be essential. Utilize your skills in voice and video systems to ensure operational efficiency, maintain compliance with service standards, and manage system updates in a flexible work environment that fosters skill enhancement. Collaborate within a compact team of technical and program support consultants dedicated to a significant federal agency.

Work Environment
Work location options include metropolitan areas with limited telework opportunities. Competitive salary offered for highly qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Telecommunications Oversight:
    • Manage the Avaya Aura Communication Manager for voice services at assigned sites.
    • Oversee voicemail systems, user management, and system performance optimization.
    • Conduct site assessments, design voice network architectures, and formulate long-term telecommunication strategies.
    • Collaborate with maintenance providers to supervise and implement system updates and enhancements.
  • VTC Administration:
    • Support the enterprise-wide deployment of Polycom VTC systems.
    • Coordinate the management and procurement of VTC services across the agency.
    • Provide ongoing technical support for VTC hardware and software.
  • System Management:
    • Ensure adherence to SLAs and security protocols.
    • Perform system tuning, monitoring, and user role management.
    • Document procedures and configurations, manage patches, and address vulnerabilities.
  • Training and User Support:
    • Create and distribute training materials for end-users on new systems and features.
    • Deliver tiered support (Tier 1/2/3) for telecommunications and VTC-related issues.
  • Project and Change Management:
    • Manage change functions and requirements for telecommunications and VTC systems.
    • Assist in the development and execution of transition plans for new technology implementations.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of technical experience in supporting IT environments at the server/data center level.
  • Expertise in Avaya Communication Manager PBX, Polycom VTC systems, and general network management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications in Avaya, Polycom, or other telecommunications/VTC technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, multitasking skills, effective communication, and experience in leadership roles.
Compensation
  • Salary range: $127,000-$135,000 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
