Key Responsibilities
  • Telecommunications Oversight:
    • Manage the Avaya Aura Communication Manager for voice services at assigned sites.
    • Oversee voicemail systems, including user management and system performance optimization.
    • Conduct site assessments, design voice networks, and formulate long-term telecommunication strategies.
    • Coordinate with maintenance providers to oversee system updates and enhancements.
  • Video Teleconferencing (VTC) Management:
    • Administer the enterprise-wide deployment of Polycom VTC systems.
    • Facilitate the management and procurement of VTC services across the agency.
    • Provide ongoing technical support for VTC hardware and software.
  • System Administration:
    • Ensure compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and security protocols.
    • Perform system tuning, monitoring, and user role management.
    • Document processes and configurations, manage software patches, and address vulnerabilities.
  • Training and User Support:
    • Create and distribute training materials for end-users on new systems and features.
    • Offer tiered support (Tier 1/2/3) for telecommunications and VTC-related issues.
  • Project and Change Oversight:
    • Effectively manage change functions and requirements for telecommunications and VTC systems.
    • Assist in developing and executing transition plans for adopting new technologies.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Technology, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of technical experience in supporting IT environments at the server/data center level.
  • Expertise in Avaya Communication Manager PBX, Polycom VTC systems, and general network management.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Relevant certifications in Avaya, Polycom, or other telecommunications/VTC technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, multitasking skills, excellent communication, and experience in a leadership capacity.
Compensation
  • Salary range: $127,000-$135,000 per year, commensurate with experience and capabilities.
