Key Responsibilities:

The Lead Embedded C++ Software Engineer will serve as a high-level technical authority in the design, development, coding, testing, and debugging of new software or significant enhancements to existing software for our clients.

  • Act as a senior technical expert, addressing integration and compatibility challenges across diverse platforms.
  • Oversee an offshore development team in the intricate design of complex software systems, ensuring project milestones are met.
  • Design, develop, and maintain software components and systems software to meet engineering, scientific, and manufacturing needs.
  • Independently create new software products or major enhancements to existing software for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct functional and empirical analysis related to software design, development, and implementation.
  • Perform feasibility studies on potential future projects for management consideration.
  • Conduct and approve code and test reviews.
  • Exercise significant discretion in determining technical objectives for assignments.
  • Advance innovative techniques and contribute to the state-of-the-art in software development.
  • Demonstrate expertise in computer science fundamentals, including design patterns, data structures, OOP, and software architecture.
  • Mentor junior software development staff.
  • Establish software development best practices.
  • Represent the organization as the primary technical contact on contracts and projects, engaging with senior client personnel on significant technical matters.
  • Participate in the formulation of test strategies, devices, and systems.
  • Possess experience with mission-critical applications, preferably in the medical device sector.
  • Familiarity with med-tech regulatory standards is advantageous.
  • Experience with embedded operating systems; proficiency in VxWorks is a plus.
  • Exhibit a high level of proficiency in object-oriented programming and application development using C++.
  • Familiarity with modern C++ standards (C++11/14/17/20) is highly preferred, along with experience using debugging tools such as Jtag, Valgrind, and GDB.
  • Skilled in devising technical solutions to complex challenges, utilizing creativity and innovation.
  • Possess a solution-oriented mindset, adept at developing and optimizing solutions under stringent constraints.
  • Comfortable delivering results in high-pressure environments and adaptable to change.
  • Engage in research concerning the design, development, testing, and utilization of electronic data processing hardware and software.
  • Work beyond routine tasks, applying specialized knowledge and technologies.
  • Team-oriented with a positive attitude and vision.
  • Proficient in relevant PC software applications and their effective use.
  • Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
