Job Summary

The Bar Manager at Goliath Consulting Group directs the activities at the bar and beverage program, ensuring seamless execution in accordance with company guidelines. This role involves overseeing inventory, menu development, drink preparation, and product specification, as well as maintaining sanitation and cleanliness standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise all bar staff, providing training and guidance to ensure excellent service and adherence to company policies.
  • Act as a mentor, offering advice and solutions to difficult problems in areas such as job performance and employee relations.
  • Ensure the bar and food service area meets quality standards, including cleanliness and sanitation, guest service, and execution of beverage service.
  • Monitor consistency and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for all aspects of the bar and service area.
  • Complete bar schedules based on labor pro formas, ensuring proper staffing levels for each shift.
  • Conduct bar inventories, monitoring proper inventory levels and adjusting par and ordering guidelines as needed.
  • Oversee relationships with vendors, ensuring quality standards for products are met and maintaining price books.
  • Monitor bar costs of goods, assessing and troubleshooting high-cost areas and advising on cost-saving solutions.
  • Ensure recipes are accurate and match theoretical costs.
  • Assist in the development of standard recipes and beverage preparation procedures.
  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, and development of all bar staff, providing performance feedback and overseeing training and development programs.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and provide a current and legal form of identification to verify age.
  • Must obtain ServSafe food sanitation certification.
