Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Research Engineer specializing in Power Electronics to join our esteemed research facility. In this role, you will spearhead innovative research initiatives aimed at advancing the technology and knowledge base for future energy solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a worldwide network of researchers and engineers within Hitachi ABB Power Grids to drive research and development of next-generation power electronics technologies, including topology analysis, modeling, and control systems.
- Support various business units to ensure the successful implementation of research projects.
- Identify and address technology gaps that meet current and future market demands in power electronics and their applications within energy systems.
- Foster relationships with external collaborators, including academic institutions, national laboratories, startups, and suppliers.
- Publish research findings in scientific journals, file patent applications, and prepare technical documentation.

Your Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics.
- Valid work authorization to be employed by Hitachi ABB Power Grids.
- Preferred experience in areas such as power electronics topology analysis, converter modeling and control, and applications in power systems (e.g., HVDC, FACTS, microgrids, renewable energy integration, energy storage, EV charging infrastructure).
- Strong theoretical foundation with a record of publications in reputable journals and conferences.
- Proficiency in computational and simulation tools, such as Matlab, Simulink, PSCAD, and PLECS.
- Demonstrated innovation capabilities and a focus on application-driven research.
- Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.
