Position Summary

Are you passionate about finance and accounting? Join our dynamic team at Promotion In Motion, where we pride ourselves on creating beloved brands and products. Our extensive range of snacks and confections is enjoyed by consumers nationwide, and we are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to contribute to our Finance department at our headquarters in Park Ridge, NJ. This role is integral to our accounting operations and will report directly to the Assistant Controller. The ideal candidate will leverage their accounting expertise to enhance our business processes and support our financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage month-end closing tasks for assigned accounts in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and document journal entries accurately.
  • Conduct thorough analyses to detect discrepancies and assess financial trends.
  • Facilitate the consolidation of financial statements.
  • Reconcile accounts and compile necessary documentation to support account balances.
  • Assist in coordinating documentation for external audits.
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for existing and new processes, suggesting improvements as necessary.
  • Engage in special projects and reporting as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is essential.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in General Accounting or a related field.
  • Experience in an inventory-driven business is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel, and familiar with accounting software.
  • Effective communication skills across various organizational levels.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to think creatively and implement process improvements.
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • This position is based at the Promotion In Motion Global Headquarters in Park Ridge, NJ.
