Position Overview:

Dewberry is on the lookout for a driven Lead Environmental Consultant. This role provides the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on environmental solutions. The successful candidate will be part of a collaborative team dedicated to delivering high-quality environmental services across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the management of the environmental division by creating effective project staffing strategies to ensure optimal project execution.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, ensuring their work is accurate and constructive feedback is provided for their professional growth.
  • Assist colleagues with field investigations, preparation of technical documentation, agency interactions, and quality assurance processes.
  • Lead complex projects in partnership with scientists, engineers, and external consultants.
  • Contribute to the development of proposals, offering technical insights and participating in proposal writing efforts.
  • Excel in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines.

Qualifications:

  • 7-15 years of relevant experience, including leadership in project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or a related discipline.
  • Relevant environmental certifications such as Professional Wetland Delineator (PWD) or similar credentials are essential.
  • Familiarity with GIS software, AutoCAD, and MicroStation is advantageous.
  • Ability to navigate and lead the NEPA process, manage complex environmental permits, and conduct extensive environmental assessments.
  • Knowledge of local environmental regulations and permitting processes is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel locally and maintain a clean driving record.
