At NorthBay Healthcare, the Registered Clinical Nutrition Specialist plays a vital role in delivering comprehensive nutrition care aligned with the principles, policies, and objectives of the Nutrition Department.
The Registered Dietitian monitors patient progress towards nutritional objectives and fosters a collaborative relationship with patients and their families to achieve these goals.
The Dietitian customizes and administers care according to the unique behaviors and requirements of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients within the scope of services offered by the Nutrition Department. This includes nutrition management for patients in Intensive Care, Stepdown, Medical, Surgical, and Emergency departments, as well as various outpatient settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics. Completion of an accredited internship recognized by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) with a focus on clinical nutrition.
Licensure:
Currently a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
(Registered Dietitian Eligible is acceptable if the Commission on Dietetic Registration Exam is scheduled and RD status is obtained within 60 days of hire).
Experience:
A minimum of one year of clinical experience in an acute care hospital or completion of a CDR-accredited internship with a focus on clinical nutrition.
Skills:
Utilizes the nutrition care process effectively in patient care. Demonstrates the ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. Strong written, verbal, and electronic communication skills are essential.
Interpersonal Skills:
Exhibits excellent communication and interpersonal abilities when interacting with the public, colleagues, patients, and families. Maintains flexibility and a positive attitude in a dynamic patient care environment.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics

Compensation:
$44.68-$54.13 per hour (Dependent on years of experience)
Per Diem: 10% differential
Evening Shift: $3.78 per hour
Night Shift:
$5.58 per hour
Weekend Shift:
$1.10 per hour
