Position Overview

Role Summary: The Clinical Dietitian plays a crucial role in delivering comprehensive nutritional care to patients, ensuring optimal health outcomes through tailored dietary interventions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts thorough nutrition screenings and assessments to establish nutrition diagnoses and develop individualized care plans.
  • Collaborates effectively with Nutrition Dietetic Technician Registered (NDTR) to enhance patient nutrition care.
  • Engages with the healthcare team to provide patient-centered care that meets individual needs.
  • Facilitates nutrition counseling and education, as well as community referrals when necessary.
  • Assesses the effectiveness of nutrition interventions and adjusts care plans accordingly.
  • Supervises and oversees the nutrition screening process to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Participates in educational initiatives related to nutrition outside of the department.
  • Works alongside department leadership to ensure the smooth operation of patient meal services, diet orders, and menu planning.
  • Contributes to patient satisfaction efforts at both the organizational and departmental levels, adhering to established principles and utilizing effective communication tools during patient interactions.
  • Provides mentorship and support to dietetic interns in collaboration with the Clinical Nutrition Supervisor.
  • Applies scientific knowledge from various disciplines to effectively implement the nutrition care process.

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or Dietetics is required, along with the successful completion of a Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)-approved internship focused on clinical nutrition.
