Position Overview
The Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) plays a pivotal role in managing the assessment and remediation of contaminated sites, including residential areas, educational institutions, recreational facilities, and childcare establishments. This agency is committed to collaborating with local communities to ensure thorough and effective cleanup operations.
As an Associate Government Program Analyst, your responsibilities will encompass:
- Administering various contracts, work orders, and related documents essential for site assessments and remediation projects.
- Evaluating contractor invoices to verify adherence to contract stipulations.
- Acting as a liaison between departmental staff and the Contracts/Business Management Unit to facilitate financial oversight of budget proposals and funding sources.
- Conducting research and providing analytical support to management and staff, ensuring they have access to accurate and comprehensible information necessary for achieving DTSC's objectives.
- Completing various tasks as assigned by management, including preparing visual data representations and summarizing findings in reports or memos.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in reviewing contractor invoices for compliance with contractual obligations.
- Strong ability to work autonomously.
- Attention to detail.
- Preferred skills in record keeping.
Additional Information:
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess a valid California Driver's License. A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required for evaluation, and applications lacking an SOQ may be disqualified. The SOQ should not exceed two pages, be well-organized, and free of more than five grammatical or spelling errors.
