Ophthalmology Faculty Position

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to fill a faculty position in ophthalmology at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. The successful candidate will join a team of experienced ophthalmologists and contribute to the development of clinical skills, research, and scholarly activity.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a clinical ophthalmology service within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, providing primary patient care and supervising clinical care delivered by students, interns, and residents.
- Participate in continuing education programs, faculty governance activities, and consultations with outside referring veterinarians.
- Teach didactic, laboratory, and small group clinical instruction in ophthalmology and related disciplines.
- Engage in active participation in general ophthalmology service activities and the ophthalmology resident training program.
- Contribute to research and scholarly activity, with opportunities for independent and collaborative creative scholarship.
- DVM or equivalent foreign degree by the date of hire.
- Completion of an approved American Board of Veterinary Ophthalmology (ABVO) residency program by the date of hire.
- Eligibility to sit for the ABVO certification exam or board certification by the date of hire.
- Eligibility for a Virginia faculty veterinary license by the date of hire.
