About the Role
We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our faculty as a tenure-track assistant professor in computational biology and bioinformatics. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department's research and teaching mission, with a focus on developing foundational ML models with applications to epidemiology, zoonosis, and infectious diseases.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct innovative research in computational biology and bioinformatics, with a focus on infectious diseases and pandemic prediction and prevention.
- Develop and teach courses in computer science and bioinformatics, at both graduate and undergraduate levels.
- Collaborate with faculty from diverse disciplines to advance interdisciplinary research and instruction.
- Participate in the activities of the Pandemic Prediction and Prevention Destination Areas initiative, including research projects, proposals, and co-mentoring students and postdoctoral fellows.
