Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fire Protection Engineering Intern to join our team at Burns & McDonnell. As a Fire Protection Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and gain hands-on experience in the field of fire protection engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist lead engineers with various project duties, including design, commissioning, and operational systems design.
  • Perform tasks requiring the application of standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Contribute to the development of engineering systems, including standard design, correction, and updating of designs.
Requirements
  • Pursuit of Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related degree from an accredited program.
  • Currently enrolled, and in good standing, in a post-secondary education in a field related to the work done in the department.
  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Actively involved in campus, community, or other volunteer activities or organizations.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

Please note that the expected hourly range for this position is displayed in accordance with the Connecticut Public Act 21-30, An Act Concerning the Disclosure of Salary Range for Vacant Positions. The final agreed-upon compensation is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and work location.
