Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Kirkhill, Inc. is a leading diversified manufacturer of highly engineered, organic, and inorganic elastomer-based products. We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Brea, CA, USA.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing all aspects of the manufacturing process by identifying opportunities and applying simpler, faster, and more cost-effective methods. This will involve creating and updating work instructions and manufacturing routers for all departments, effectively using process improvement strategies and techniques, and documenting all manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and update work instructions and manufacturing routers for all departments
  • Effectively use process improvement strategies and techniques, including Lean, Poka yoke, and Six Sigma
  • Document all manufacturing processes and keep current
  • Train other employees as required
  • Provide guidance to Engineering, planning, and cost estimating on routers and tooling
  • Execute special projects as assigned
  • Design tooling, fixtures, and jigs to improve manufacturing
Requirements
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and make independent decisions
  • Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience in analyzing and solving parts and process issues
  • Demonstrated ability to meet critical deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player with ability to work well with employees and customers alike

  • Intermediate skills in working with Microsoft Office

Education/Previous Experience Requirements

Preferred degree is in material science. Elastomer rubber manufacturing experience is a must. Three to five years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering is required.
