Position Overview: The Quality and Patient Safety Project Manager is accountable for ensuring evidence-based care and clinical excellence. This role utilizes system design, reengineering, project management, patient safety, quality enhancement, outcomes measurement, and statistical analysis to elevate compliance rates as per nationally standardized benchmarks and corporate standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Management: Lead and facilitate quality improvement initiatives for designated teams and departments. Identify potential patient safety hazards and implement strategies to enhance patient safety.

2. Training: Deliver in-service training on patient safety principles, quality management, performance improvement methodologies, and organizational standards. Actively participate in Shared Governance Councils and Hospital Quality/Patient Safety meetings, providing expertise in Performance Improvement (PI) techniques.

3. Data Management: Gather, compile, analyze, and present quality data. Monitor the effectiveness of corrective action plans and communicate findings to the Director of Quality and Patient Safety or designated personnel.

4. Regulatory Compliance: Engage in activities to ensure ongoing adherence to quality and regulatory standards, including those set by the Joint Commission, State Department of Health, and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid. Provide support during accreditation and regulatory evaluations.

5. Additional Duties: Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Nursing or a related Healthcare field.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in quality improvement or project management within a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Experience in leading and facilitating project teams is advantageous.
  • At least 3 years of clinical experience in an acute care hospital is preferred.
  • Current NJ Registered Nurse Licensure is preferred.
