Job Title: Resident Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Resident Engineer to join our team at Jacobs. As a key member of our infrastructure project management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the construction inspection process and ensuring compliance with contract and code requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Field Engineers to monitor the performance of contractors and ensure compliance with contract and code requirements.
  • Plan and coordinate all field inspection activities and review Field Engineer's Daily reports to ensure compliance with job specifications.
  • Respond to various field issues, track job progress, and submit relevant reports.
  • Supervise the construction inspection personnel assigned within all engineering disciplines and ensure that construction quality assurance inspection is completed properly, in a timely manner, and in accordance with contract documents and NJDOT requirements.
  • Be mindful of constructability reviews during preconstruction.
  • Verify that tests, observations, and inspections are performed, witnessed, and documented in conjunction with plans and specifications and NJDOT requirements.
  • Assist in responding to RFIs.
  • Review detailed requisitions for equipment and completed work.
  • Provide field information (photos, drawing markups, field measurements) to design personnel when needed.
  • Conduct preliminary review of submittals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, with NJDOT PE license or NICET IV or 15 years NJDOT RE experience.
  • Substantial years of experience in managing infrastructure projects as a Resident Engineer.
  • Experience with construction elements of NJ road and bridge projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ideal Qualifications:

  • Experience on New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) projects.
  • 10 Hour OSHA.
  • ACI Certification.
