Operations Executive

We are in search of a Director of Operations to oversee the comprehensive management of our multi-site, temperature-sensitive distribution centers. This role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence across our facilities.

The Director of Operations will be responsible for steering the overall direction and supervision in critical areas such as food safety standards, operational efficiency, financial management, client relations, and the cultivation of leadership talent within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership to general managers across multiple sites.
• Ensure adherence to safety protocols and food grade standards in production, storage, and distribution.
• Assess operational performance and formulate both short-term and long-term objectives to fulfill customer and organizational goals.
• Oversee all aspects of warehousing, distribution, packaging, and transportation to meet company and client specifications while prioritizing employee safety.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing safety, value, service, and operational effectiveness.
• Implement and supervise safety programs to protect all personnel, equipment, and property.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant company, client, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate effectively with sales teams, general managers, clients, and stakeholders.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
• Demonstrated experience with financial aspects including budgeting and cost control.
• Proven success in leading multiple facilities at a director level.
• OSHA certification and familiarity with regulatory requirements are essential.
• Experience in Lean/Six Sigma methodologies is preferred.
• AIB certification is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
• Strong background in customer service.
• A minimum of 10 years of operational leadership experience in a high-volume, fast-paced food-grade logistics environment.
• In-depth knowledge of large-scale temperature-controlled warehousing operations and consumer packaged goods distribution.
• Experience with a leading provider of temperature-controlled logistics services.
• Exceptional organizational and continuous improvement capabilities.
• Flexibility to support operations around the clock as needed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• A broad range of leadership skills with a focus on operational management, safety, supervision, motivation, and planning.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback to team members to foster growth and productivity.
• Experience with performance management systems and safety reporting is required.
