POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Robotics Technician II is responsible for the daily management of robotic welding systems to produce metal components or assemblies, utilizing foundational knowledge of welding principles, methodologies, and basic mathematics. This role involves operating computer-controlled machinery or robots to execute various functions.

- Assist in the calibration of welding equipment.
- Choose, align, and secure fixtures, attachments, and materials on welding machines or work surfaces as necessary.
- Ensure that finished products meet specified standards.
- Conduct visual inspections to maintain quality documentation with minimal oversight.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tools, and the workspace on a daily basis.
- Run trial operations on welding robots to confirm the accuracy of machine settings or programmed data.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to execute simple offline programs without errors.
- Safely maneuver robots to designated locations within the work area.
- Capability to pass both manual and automated welding tests across all positions.
- Basic understanding of welding techniques.
- Proficiency in preparing metal surfaces using hand tools such as grinders, cutters, and drills.
- Aptitude for identifying collision risks and maneuvering robots out of confined spaces.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, work orders, or production schedules to ascertain job specifications.
- Skill in developing and creating seam types with the robot on test materials.
- Experience in installing, calibrating, operating, and maintaining robotic systems.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for programming issues.
- Ability to manually program complex positions and weld with minimal defects.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred experience in ARC Welding, including GMAW/FCAW.
A minimum of six months of hands-on experience as a robotic operator.

CERTIFICATIONS:
No specific certifications required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This role is performed in a dynamic manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels. The individual must be able to navigate job sites, climb stairs and ladders, and enter confined spaces. Frequent bending, squatting, crawling, and twisting are required, along with the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Extended hours and occasional weekend work may be necessary.
