Job Title: Peer Support Specialist

About the Role:

The Peer Support Specialist will work closely with adolescents and young adults who are transitioning into independence, using their personal experience and recovery to support and guide them. This role requires a strong understanding of behavioral health issues and a willingness to share one's own experiences to support others.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with youth's treatment team to support recovery and independence.
  • Provide one-on-one or group activities designed to share experiences, build relationships, and develop community living skills.
  • Maintain frequent contact with youth to provide support and guidance.
  • Encourage youth participation in wellness and recovery activities.
Requirements:
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • GED or High School diploma.
  • Competence to provide peer support services by virtue of having experienced or witnessed behavioral health issues in your life or in your family.
