Peer Support Specialist

At Alaska Behavioral Health, we are dedicated to providing exceptional behavioral healthcare services to Alaskans. Our peer support team is composed of dedicated professionals who work collaboratively to provide comprehensive support to our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clinical team members to provide case management services to Adult Day Center and Department of Labor (DOL) Peer Apprentice Program participants.
- Offer crisis intervention and stabilization for clients in emergency situations, ensuring appropriate follow-up care.
- Develop therapeutic relationships with clients to support their recovery and success.
- Participate in discharge planning to enhance clients' ability to maintain treatment changes and utilize community resources.
- Provide training groups aligned with the DOL Peer Apprentice Program.
- Mentor new staff members to support their success in the field.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a human-services field or equivalent experience
- DBH Approved Intro to Peer Support 37.5 Hour Training within 90 days of hire
- ACBHC PSP II/III Certified within 180 days of hire
- Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team
- Strong crisis intervention skills
- Knowledge of community resources
- Proficiency in computer skills
- Possession of a valid Alaska Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
