The successful candidate will be responsible for clinical care of patients, didactic and clinical training of residents and medical students, and contributing to the growth of the clinical and educational programs of the department.
Responsibilities
• Participate in the clinical care and treatment of patients
• Promote compliance with quality indicators, medical records completion, patient satisfaction, billing and coding documentation, and proper conduct of physicians in relation to colleagues, co-workers, and patients
• Encourage and develop professional environments capable of fostering the highest level of medical performance throughout the region
• Develop collaborative relations with local community leaders
Teaching/Instruction
• Participate actively in the teaching activities in the Department of Ophthalmology
Required Qualifications
• MD/DO or equivalent
• Board certified/eligible in ophthalmology
• Fellowship training in neuro-ophthalmology

College/Department Information
The Medical College of Georgia is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 260 students per class. The educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state, and a second four-year campus in Athens in partnership with the University of Georgia. MCG's expanding partnerships with physicians and hospitals across Georgia currently provide about 350 sites where students can experience the full spectrum of medicine, from complex care hospitals to small-town solo practices.
