Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified faculty member to join our Department of Neurosurgery at Augusta University's Medical College of Georgia. The ideal candidate will be a fellowship-trained skull base neurosurgeon with a strong academic background and a demonstrated ability to develop a robust research program. The successful candidate will have a primary responsibility of expanding skull base neuro-oncology and will work in collaboration with other departments to further develop the multidisciplinary neuro-oncology program.

Responsibilities
  • Teaching: 15% of time will be dedicated to teaching medical students, neurosurgery residents, and fellows.
  • Research: 75% of time will be dedicated to establishing an independent extramurally funded research program to complement the research strengths and goals of the Department of Neurosurgery and the University.
  • Service: 10% of time will be dedicated to participating on various committees and providing public and professional service to the community and the department/college/university/USG.
Required Qualifications
  • A doctoral degree in Medicine or PhD in Biological Sciences.
  • Assistant Professor: Early level career as a faculty member with appropriate postgraduate training.
  • Associate Professor: Mid-level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
  • Professor: Senior-level career faculty member with at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, background, and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extramural funding and potential for its continuation.

This position is fiscal year-based and works year-round. The intended work commitment or full-time equivalent (FTE) for this position is 1.0 and considered full-time.
