Amazon Web Services is seeking a highly driven Solutions Architect to contribute to our expanding business within the World Wide Public Sector practice. In this role, you will have the chance to shape and execute a strategy that promotes the widespread adoption of Amazon's utility computing web services (e.g., AWS EC2, AWS S3, AWS RDS, and AWS CloudFront) in collaboration with customers and our network of system integrators and solution providers.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Leading the technical engagement and ensuring the success of specific implementation projects.
  2. Defining implementation architectures, responding to requests for proposals (RFPs), and developing a deep expertise in AWS technologies, as well as a comprehensive understanding of how applications and services are built using the AWS platform.
  3. Serving as a subject matter expert on security concerning customer applications and services.

As a Solutions Architect on our team, you will deliver exceptional technical design and thought leadership to our clients while collaborating with a top-tier sales and business development team. You will lead initiatives to capture and disseminate best-practice knowledge within the AWS solution architect community. This role offers the opportunity to learn from, collaborate with, and educate some of the brightest technical minds in the industry across the spectrum of enterprise architecture.

Preferred qualifications include experience in the following areas:

  1. Technical presentation experience – both small and large group settings.
  2. Technical expertise in web services development and deployment, as well as cloud computing.
  3. Operational experience in website/services operations, management, and security.
  4. Willingness to travel up to 30%.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

8+ years of experience in specific technology domains (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).

3+ years of experience in design, implementation, or consulting for applications and infrastructures.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Intermediate to advanced knowledge of AWS services is preferred.

Prior experience in a technical role within a sales organization is preferred.

Understanding of infrastructure and security requirements, such as HIPAA, PCI, etc.

Experience working with universities or colleges is preferred.

Experience in healthcare and/or academic medical centers is preferred.
